The Art of Non-Conformity by Chris Guillebeau
I met Chris Guillebeau in 2010, during his book tour in San Francisco, after discovering his blog few months earlier. I had even more respect for him after I saw how humble and generous he was that night: he leads by the example. Chris wrote other books since then but the Art of Non-Conformity remains my favorite one to get inspiration and change your life.
To get an idea of what Chris writes about in his book, you can download his free manifesto on his website: A Brief Guide to World Domination.
The Niching Nest by Tad Hargrave
If you struggle with finding your niche, this e-book might help you get clarity about your community.
Rework by Jason Fried and David Hansson
I have the hardcover book as I find that format more suitable to look at the illustrations rather than using the kindle one. It is an easy and short reading that could help you think about your business differently.
Art Inc. by Lisa Congdon
It is a book for artists and creative entrepreneurs who want to make a living with their art. However, most of the practical advices are useful for other types of business.
The Ultimate Competitive Advantage by Shawn D. Moon and Sue Dathe-Douglass
It provides valuable practices that you can apply to drive your team and company culture toward excellence. The book is based on the concepts described in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People written by Stephen R. Covey.
Organize your ideas
The Evernote applications are beautifully and simply designed for each device. It is a great way to access your notes from anywhere you are using a free application. Choose your Evernote plan here.
Even though I try to be paperless as much as possible, there is something in writing down my notes and ideas on paper that I can’t have when using electronic devices. I use the Circa Notebooks as they allow me to sort my notes or task lists.
Train your Mind
This is a meditation made easy application. You can sign up for free and install Headspace on your iOs or Android phone. I also recommend that you watch Andy Puddicombe’s Ted Talk that is presented on the home page of the website.
The Fine Minute Journal
Start and end your day with gratitude notes: it will help your feel more positive during the day. The journal has also some daily quotes to inspire you.
Premium WordPress Themes
You can find there lots of themes for your WordPress sites. Great vendor, great services, great products: not much to add.
If you have a budget for creating landing pages, I would recommend using LeadPages as they show you which page format converts the best. Instead of building your landing page yourself and doing some guess work, you can also save time with their templates as they are optimized for conversion.
Web Hosting Companies With Values
Crafted with care as they say: SiteGround has an international presence and the support team is extremely reactive. You should try to contact them and see how fast they answer you: might be the best customer experience I have had with hosting providers!
A sustainable company: I respect their company philosophy around sustainability and I’ve always had a good experience with their sales and support teams.
